如何弥补错误
Last week, my friend Allan and I were playing catch in my yard. The ball hit my neighbour’s window because of my fault. The window was broken into many pieces.
We were scared and hid. Mr. Jones, the neighbour, came running out of his house and looked around to see who threw the ball. We didn’t come out until Mr. Jones went back into his house. So he had to repair the broken glass with his own money.
Later, my mom and I were talking. She told me about the broken window.“Poor Mr. Jones,” she said. “He’s such a nice guy. I can’t believe anyone would break his window and not stay around to apologize.”
Right away, I knew what I had to do. I told Mom that I broke the window by accident. I told her that I ran away. Mom said I could easily fix that mistake. It wasn’t easy, knocking on Mr. Jones’ door and telling him what I had done.
Mr. Jones looked at me after I explained what happened. He was not angry at all. I told him that I would save my money and pay back every penny.
Mr. Jones smiled, “It’s not the money that matters,”he said.“I am really hurt that someone would do that to me without stopping to apologize. Now that you have come and explained the accident, I feel good again.” 6. Where did the writer play catch with his friend? A. in his neighbor’s yard B. on the playground C. in the writer’s yard

C(2024原创)
I had a good day today. Because it’s Saturday and I had time to go out with my dog under the moonlight before daybreak(黎明). The moonlight was so bright. My dog was also very happy. He ran freely on the street. I gave cheerful greetings to everyone I met. I shared my happiness and was happy to see the smiles on their faces. I also offered a helping hand to one friend. Later at the store I held the door for a lady with her arms full of packages. I told a tired cashier(收银员)what a good job she was doing and saw her smiling face.
When I got home, I gave my parents a hug and kissed them. Then I began to play with my younger brother. Then I answered letters from my friends trying to share my thoughts by writing letters. Later in the evening, I spent some quiet time reading a good book, and my dog sat beside me. Finally I ended the day the way I started it—walking with my dog under the moonlight. I’m thankful for having the chance to live a wonderful life.
Perhaps the key to having a great life is to live a good day at a time. 10. What did the writer give to everyone he met?(不超过5个词)

Dear David,
You asked about our Chinese Chess Club and how to play chess in your letter. Now I'd like to tell you something about these. First, you can go to Chinese Chess Club on Friday afternoon. There are many experienced teachers who can help you learn about the rules of how to move the chess pieces and how to win a game.
Then, you need to learn some basic chess strategies. The most important thing you can do to get better at chess is to practice a lot. It doesn't matter if you play it at home with friends or play online. You just have to play the game a lot to improve.
Last but not least, don't get discouraged if you don't win all the games. As long as you continue to have fun and learn from the games you lose, you can improve yourself little by little.
I hope you'll love the game and we can play it later at school. Best wishes.
Yours,
Li Hua
