Unit 7 Chinese Festivals (Story time) 教学设计

无锡花园实验小学 郭景燕 一、教材简解

本单元围绕“中国的节日”这一话题展开教学活动,学生通过学习,能了解中国一些传统节日的时间,习俗和特色美食,并能理解运用相关句式进行介绍和描述。 二、目标预设

1.能掌握节日单词:Spring Festival,Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival和Double Ninth Festival.以及相关词汇:get together, dumpling, dragon boat races, place, rice dumpling, moon cake, mountain, rice cake,和月份表达。

2. 能了解一些中国传统节日的基本知识、文化背景以及风俗习惯,让学生尝试用英语来介绍本国的文化,从而提高学生的文化素养和爱国热情。 三、教学重点和难点 1. 教学重点

句型: The Spring Festival is in January or February.

词汇: January, February, call, May, June, September, October, November, festival , get together 2. 教学难点

句型: The Spring Festival is in January or February. People eat rice dumplings at this festival.

词汇: Spring Festival, January, February, dumpling, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Double Ninth Festival, November, mountain等词汇的读音。 四、教学过程

Step 1 Warming up 1. Sing a song

【设计意图】 课前热身,活跃课堂气氛。 2. Free talk

T: I’m your English teacher today. Let me get to know about you.

I like travelling. How about you? Do you have any hobbies? What do you like doing after school? … …

I also like taking photos. Let me show you some pictures. What are the pictures about? They are about festivals, Chinese festivals.

【设计意图】通过交流拉近师生距离,并通过图片自然过渡到本节课话题festival,在欣赏图片的过程中有意识地输入本节课内容,为进一步阅读作准备。 Step 2 Presentation

1. Watch the cartoon, then answer: How many festivals are there? What are they?

【设计意图】观看课文视频,大致了解课文内容,初步认读短文介绍的四个节日:Spring Festival, Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival和Double Ninth Festival。 2. Careful reading

(1) Read, find and circle(朗读课文第一段,圈出节日时间,主要活动和食物) 随文识字:Spring Festival, January, February, get together, dumpling 朗读第一段

(2) Read, ask and answer(朗读课文第二段,同桌根据提供的问题问答) When is the Dragon Boat Festival?

What do people usually do at this festival? What do they eat?

学习新词:Dragon Boat Festival, May, June, dragon boat races, rice dumpling (3) Listen and fill(听第三段录音,根据录音内容填空)

The Mid-Autumn Festival is in __________ or ________ . People _______________ at night with

their families. They eat __________ and ______ .

学习新词:Mid-Autumn Festival, September, October, moon cake (4) Read, fill then say (阅读,完成表格,然后根据表格内容复述) Double Ninth Festival When? in October or November What to do? What to eat? visit parents and grandparents climb mountains rice cakes 学习新词: Double Ninth Festival, November, mountains, rice cake 【设计意图】通过四种方式学习四个节日,引导学生用不同的手段理解课文内容,学会阅读的方法。根据文本内容的难易,教师逐步放手,从单词地朗读、阅读过渡到简单复述。 Step 3 Consolidation

1. Read after the tape(听录音,跟读)

2. Read for fun (自读,或四人一组分段朗读) 3. Read and guess: What is my favourite festival? 4. Think and talk: My favourite festival

【设计意图】听录音朗读课文意在培养正确的语音语调。在能够比较熟练表达课文内容的基础上,让学生以my favourite festival为题,选择一个节日进行介绍,深化所学内容,体现了模仿到自主的过程。

小结本课所学,引导学生关注节日的意义。 Step 5 Homework 1. 朗读课文

2. 用英语介绍自己喜爱的节日

3. 选择一个节日,制作成一张英语海报。 【设计意图】作业是课堂教学的补充和延伸,有特色的作业更能激起学生英语表达的欲望和学习的兴趣。
